History

In 1922, when developer E. C. Ross built this home for $20,000, the standard Colonial Revival design was in a transitional phase, sometimes appearing in a pure form, sometimes being used with a combination of other designs.

Here, the builder was influenced by bungalow architecture, seen in the broad front porch and liberal use of windows, and the concepts of Frank Lloyd Wright, who stressed horizontal lines that conformed to the wide-open spaces of the prairie.

Ross sold the home to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil S. Proctor. Mrs. Proctor remained in the home until 1974.
